(First time to a Forum? Please read this!)

Forums are unlike most conferences you may have attended. They are specifically designed to maximise the open exchange of experiences and insights among participants in a balanced and inclusive way.

You will find three main types of engagement:

  • General Sessions – held in a ballroom setting with a more structured format and facilitated discussion, including audience participation.
  • Breakout Sessions – a range of focused, participant-driven discussions and working sessions that allow for deeper exploration of topics.
  • Social Settings – including meals, receptions, and activities, which provide more informal opportunities for networking and self-directed interaction.

These three elements form the core mechanics we use to help you and your organisations learn, share, and grow at our in-person Forums.

Every breakout session is a dynamic, member-led conversation in which participants share best practices, successes, and lessons learned. The sessions are intentionally broad in their titles and descriptions so that attendees can shape the content, priorities, and direction of the discussion.

The facilitators for each session you register for will contact you in advance to understand your interests and objectives. Please respond openly with your needs, perspectives, and priorities so you can gain the greatest value from the session.

In addition to members from a wide range of asset management firms, we invite a carefully curated selection of Vendor Partners and Solution Providers who have demonstrated deep expertise and commitment to our industry — particularly in Sales, Marketing, Client Servicing, and the tools, technologies, and practices that support them.

However, unlike traditional conferences, they do not have booths, exhibition tables, or dedicated spaces. Instead, they participate in the sessions alongside members. They are strictly prohibited from making sales pitches but are encouraged to share their knowledge, experiences, and accomplishments as valuable industry contributors. We therefore ask that you approach these interactions with the same openness to learning and sharing that you bring to all Forum discussions.

Still not sure?  Just call us at +1-917-561-9553 or write to SMEForum@TheSMEForum.net  for help thinking through who best to attend based on content, opportunity and what is happening at your firm.  Let’s get the right people to participate.
